Southern Sheeting are a family-owned business based in East Grinstead, West Sussex. They provide roofing and cladding materials to a range of sectors and are committed to ethical and sustainable trade. To help lower their carbon footprint and save money on energy bills, the company changed their outdated lighting to LED.
LEDs are a great sustainability easy-win. They’re usually simple to fit and use 75% less energy than traditional bulbs. They also typically last longer too, so you don’t have to replace them as often.
Alan Francis, Transport Manager at Southern Sheeting said:
“LED lighting resulted in several benefits to the business. The economic is often the first that comes to mind but as well as reinforcing the businesses sustainability goals perhaps the biggest benefit was the way the project helped us to engage with staff who could see the day-to-day benefits of better lighting and the positive benefits of what we are trying to achieve.”
Southern Sheeting are now working with a carbon footprint consultant to support them with their sustainability objectives and on their journey to net zero.
