West Sussex based Shoreham Football Club is one of England’s greenest non-league football clubs. The club is on a mission to become carbon neutral within the next 2 years, having previously won the national British Association for Sustainable Sport (Basis) award for sustainability in sport.
Their previous pitch floodlights were over 30 years old and eating lots of energy. They’ve recently upgraded them to LED bulbs, which last longer and use less power without compromising performance. It was the final piece of the puzzle in the club’s climate action project.
Stuart Slaney, Chairman, said:
“Given the huge energy price hikes, the LEDs are helping with costs as well as keeping our energy consumption down.”
